WRD Minister Awangbow Newmai inspects river banks.

Minister for Water Resource and Relief & Disaster Management,  Awangbow Newmai inspected the  river banks from Kangpokpi to Koirengei. During the visit, Minister Awangbow Newmai said that the main objective of the visit is pertaining to original application 673/2018 of National Green Tribunal. He also said that steps will be taken up to evict illegal encroacher along the river. The Minister also visited  Kangpokpi Ward no. 1,2,15 and 16 where waste dumping is taking place directly on the Imphal River.  Minster said that a committee will soon be formed to look into the matter and this committee will comprise of WRD Department, DC Kangpokpi and Department of Environment, Government of Manipur.

The Ministerial team was accompanied by Kengoo Zuringla, DC,Kangpokpi, Chief Engineer WRD, Songput N.Albert,  DR.T. Brajakumar, Joint Director ,Department of Environment, Engineers of WRD Department, and other officials of the Department, EO Kangpokpi ADC and Secretary Town Committee,Kangpokpi District.
