CM flags off road improvement work of imphal-kohima, opens thadou heritage museum


Manipur CM N. Biren Singh stated that the State is moving in its path of development faster under the guidance of Prime Minister  Narendra Modi. The development works taken up in various sectors by the State Government is for the sack of our future generations, he added. CM was addressing the gathering at the flag-off programme for improvement of Imphal Kohima Package–IV(B) and Imphal Kohima Package-V(A) Road of National Highway-02 held at Kalapahar, Kangpokpi District.

Continuing his speech,CM appreciated the MLAs of Kangpokpi District and Civil Society Organisations for their cooperation and efforts in solving the issues of land compensation along the said highway. Maintaining that different communities residing in the State has now started living together having respect for one another, he continued that the Government only wanted its citizens to be abided by the laws of the land. He added that the Government is working under the ambit of the Indian Constitution and not imposing any law which is beyond its ambit.

Appealing to the public that cooperating with the Government’s development work could make our State more developed, CM assured that those who are affected with the road improvement work would be benefited for their loss. Chairman, Planning and Development Authority Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei, MLA of Saitu AC Haokholet Kipgen, Executive Director, RO-Imphal, NHIDCL D. S. Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi Kengoo Zuringla and other officials also attended the flag off programme. Later CM formally opened the Thadou Heritage Museum at Thadou Inpi-General Headquarters Complex, Kangpokpi.
