121 birth anniversary celebration of shyama prasad mukherjee
Delivering
the keynote address, Shri H. Doungel, Dy Director/OSD, NYK Ccpur highlighted in
a nutshell the life and contributions of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. He said that
Shyama Prasad, who founded the Bharat Jana Sangh in 1951, was a barrister, a
refined academician and a visionary politician. He said that today’s programme
was organised to spread awareness among the mass about his life and his
contributions to the Nation.
Presenting
a paper on ‘The Contributions of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee for India,’ Shri T.
Lawmpi, Assistant Professor, Dept of Political Science, Rayburn College, Ccpur
dwelt at length on the contributions in the field of politics and education. He
said that Shyama Prasad was a champion of unity and became one of the builders
of the Nation. Lawmpi also said Shyama Prasad was an ardent nationalist and in
his life today’s youth have many lessons to learn.
ShriSeijachungHaokip,
proprietor of The Endurance Library also attended the programme.
Later,
a blood donation was organised by NYK Ccpur at Churachandpur District Hospital
to commemorate the day.
