Patriots day celebrated throughout the state, floral tributes offered to the mighty souls.

Patriot's day celebrated throughout the state. As part of the Patriots’ Day observation, paid floral tributes at Uttra in Kangla, Shahid Minar and the freedom fighters memorial at the BT Park along with  Governor, Ministers, MLAs and Govt. officials. These places holds a very significant place in our history. It is at the Uttra where the beheaded heads and bodies of the 5 British officers were buried after they were killed by the mob on 24th March, 1891. On the other hand, it was at the Shahid Minar which was then known as Pheidapung, where Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General were hanged. Also, the freedom fighters memorial at BT Park is the memorial which was recently built in honour of Maharaj Kulachandra and 22 other freedom fighters who were exiled at Kalapani (Andaman and Nicobar Islands)
