Manipuri Language day celebrated at Palace Compound, Imphal

31st Manipur Language Day celebrated at Maharaj Chandrakriti Auditorium, Palace Compound. Speaking on the occasion, CM appealed the people of the state to learn the languages of various native tribes viz; Thadou, Hmar, Paite , Tangkhul etc. and also appealed to the people of the hills to learn manipuri language ( metei lon). Further, he said that in the historical records of Manipur there were no reports where Tikendrajit wrote a letter to Queen Victoria to forgive his mistakes and he added that the above information was given by Amit Shah. Today's programme was mainly organised commemorating the addition of Manipuri language in the 8th schedule.
