Minister for Textiles, Commerce and Industry (TCI), Nemcha Kipgen inspected
various infrastructural development of the TCI, Department in Churachandpur
district today.
Nemcha Kipgen visited the Industrial Estate in Churachandpur
which is listed for inauguration as a part of the Government’s 100 Action Plan
for First 100 Days. Nemcha sought cooperation from the locals in proper
maintenance of the Industrial Estate once it is fully functional. She also
stated that such development of the Government will generate employment.
Presently, Industrial Estate of Imphal West district at Takyelpat, Bishnupur
district at Tera Urak and Industrial estate of Thoubal district at Kuraopokpi
are functioning at full swing, she informed. It may be mentioned that the
Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the year 2018 decided to set up industrial
estates in each of the 16 districts of Manipur with the financial assistance
from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and NEC.
During the
visit, she also assessed the infrastructures of District Industrial Centre
(DIC), Churachandpur, Cluster Type of Training Centre, Livelihood Business
Incubation Centre and inspected the Cold Chain Unit which is still under
construction. Minister Nemcha interacted
with the staff of the DIC, Churachandpur and urged for their cooperation in the
efficient functioning of the Department to further contribute in the
socio-economic development of the State.
Managing Director, MANIDCO, Peter Salam and concerned officers of the
department accompanied the minister during the visit.
