‘International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking


Lunzamung Tungnung, while speaking on the occasion said today’s campaign is very crucial for the district and through this awareness we are trying to make the people aware on the ill effect of drugs. Stating that the war on drugs cannot be successful without the cooperation of the community, he urged officials of the district police and the public to play a positive role in guiding those into drugs by making it a mission which will be a great contribution in mitigating the drugs menace.   

Attended by OC Thanlon, T Joy Martin and OC Parbung, Lutminthang Kipgen; an awareness interaction on drugs with Village Authorities was conducted. Mass Awareness Rally were also organised at Thanlon and Parbung in association with Forest Officials, Students, HYA, HSA, HWA and ZYA.   

Cycle Rally Held To Spread Awarness Against Drug Abuse

The Joint Committee on Anti Drugs Churachandpur in Collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Churachandpur, District Police, Churachandpur and KSO Churachandpur today organised a 'Mass Cycle Rally' to mark the 'observation of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022.The rally was organised to raise awareness about the impact and negative consequences that drugs have on society.

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022 under the theme ‘Better Knowledge for Better Care’ was observed across Manipur. 

In Tengnoupal, the day was jointly organised by the Kuki Students Organisation Moreh Block and the Moreh Youth Club in Moreh on Saturday. Students, teachers and leaders of various CSOs took out a silent rally against the illicit drug trafficking in the town

The rally started from Moreh Forest Gate and proceeded towards Moreh Bazar, custom station, Moreh Gate No 2 and concluded at HTC office Moreh. Placards that read ‘No to drugs, Yes to life’ and ‘Against the drug traffickers’ were used in the rally.
