Inauguration of public toilet & distribution of worksite facilities held

Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Pawan Yadav today inaugurated a Public Toilet constructed under MGNREGA 2021-22 at Peace Ground, Tuibong and distributed worksite facilities namely – parachute, water storage tank and megaphone each to 20 selected Village Authorities under Tuibong TD Block. Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Yadav, who is also DPC of MGNREGS, Churachandpur highlighted the various remarkable works achieved under MGNREGS in the district. 

He appealed to all participating Village Authorities and CSOs to further work for the overall development of the district and make collective efforts to eradicate poppy cultivation in the district and avoid its disastrous effects. He said that poppy cultivation, if not contained now, would have adverse impact to the next generations.  Yadav also highlighted the necessity and importance of a proper public toilet at Peace Ground, which is the main venue for most of the district functions like Independence Day and Republic Day. He also appealed to all concerned for the successful completion of construction/renovation of 75 Amrit Sarovar ponds for the district to commemorate the 75th years of Indian Independence.  

The worksite facilities distributed today were procured under MGNREGS and meant to be utilized during NREGA works. The drinking water storage tank was meant to serve the twin purposes of MGNREGS worksite and storing rain water under Jal Shakti Abhiyan (Catch the Rain mission).  The programme was attended by PD, DRDA S Thienlaljoy Gangte, Sr.FO Ngangbam Rajesh; EE, DRDA Sanga; Project Officer Joycy; BDO/Tuibong Jangminlen Lupho; SO of Tuibong Block Thangkhohem Haokip and other staff of DRDA/Churachandpur & BDO / Tuibong. Apart from the chiefs/representatives of the selected 20 villages of Tuibong Block, the occasion was attended by Secretary, Kuki Inpi Churachandpur Shri Lalkhohao Chongloi, and Secretary KSO Ccpur Shri Lienminlal Gangte as special invitees.
